Learning to build and Design

I repaired and refinished my first piece of furniture in 1969. Over the next few years I repaired a lot of furniture, I was just out of the army, just married, in college and we could not afford to buy new. Every thing in our apartment came either from an auction or out of the trash. This however was the beginning of my current career, I am a full time furniture restorer. As a result of my repair experience, I began to build furniture from scratch. I firmly believe if you want to learn to make furniture, start to fix old pieces. There is no better way to learn what works and what doesn’t than restoring old pieces. My intent for this blog is to post on repair work as well as new builds and wood working in general.
